Laura is Executive Director of the Maryland Association for Environmental and Outdoor Education (MAEOE). Laura has more than 15 years experience in non-profit and profit management in the UK and USA.  She has worked with non-profit leaders to develop successful strategies for strengthening and diversifying their organizations funding bases. Laura’s skills include change management, strategic planning and start-up planning and implementation. She has used these skills to position organizations for growth and sustainability and to develop and initiate new projects. Laura holds an MBA from Thunderbird School of Global Management and speaks Spanish as a second language. Her areas of expertise include: Increasing capacity of non-profit organizations, strategic planning, financial management, and team building. She enjoys making links between the non-profit sector and the public and private sectors and engaging with business leaders to enable them to incorporate strategies for building a better community. Laura enjoys spending time outdoors with her family.

Christina Gladmon

The 2009 MAEOE conference was the first conference Christina Gladmon went to and has been active in MAEOE ever since! Christina has volunteered with MAEOE for the past couple of years, assisting with the conference and as a Green Leader. During her Green Leader volunteering, she helped many schools become Green Schools over the years, presented at the youth submit, and reviewed numerous applications. In 2015, Christina submitted the Green Center application for Masonville Cove Environmental Education Campus and help them recertified as a Green Center! She has been a part of the Environmental Education community in Baltimore since college, educating students about urban runoff. She graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Marine Science degree and a minor in Biology. She believes that through education, conservation can prevail. Christina enjoys making maps and is working towards her GIS certification. She loves the outdoors and can be seen paddling her kayak around local waterways.

Kim Drake

Kim Drake started volunteering with MAEOE in 2013 by becoming a Green Leader. She helped her son’s school earn their Green School Recertification.  In September 2015 she was hired by MAEOE and will be supporting the team with administrative duties. Kim has a Bachelor’s of Science in Natural Resource Management from the University of Maryland, College Park. She spent the first part of her career working in Air and Water regulation compliance as a contractor for DOE and DOD.  Kim also teaches environmental education programs at the Annapolis Maritime Museum. Kim believes in leading by example and by doing so reaches as many people as she can to teach sustainability and environmentalism. Other than Environmental Activism, her other passion is music.  Kim plays the trumpet in the Columbia Concert Band. She has been teaching the trumpet to children for 15 years. This year she is the President of the Board of Directors of the Columbia Bands, Inc. organization.
