New Research by Dr. Sarah Haines connects Maryland Green Schools participation and academic achievement

Maryland Green Schools linked to increased academic achievement. Dr. Sarah Haines and colleagues from Towson University have had their green schools research published in the journal of Applied Environmental Education & Communication. The research focused on the influence of Maryland Green Schools on student achievement and shows a connection between Environmental Education and student academic achievement.

We want to get the word out that being a Maryland Green School does make a difference!
Researchers compared test scores 3 years prior to becoming a Green School with test scores 3 years after receiving the award. The study shows a strong correlation between participating in the Maryland Green School process and improved academic performance.
